I've written some 'I Believe' statements. My hope is that these I believe statements will shape me into bits and pieces of all the teachers I've looked up to and want to become. Below is my written philosophy based on the theories of Maxine Greene and Tony Wagner.
'... every student should have the chance to go to post-secondary.'
'... a student should feel comfortable talking to any of their teachers.'
I BELIEVE THAT...
'... there is a happy medium between being feared by your students and being liked by your students, being respected.'
'... all students should receive equal education in the core subjects: math, english, science, social, health, gym, artdance and music.'
'... there should be no biases in the classroom from the teacher.'
'... all students should get equal attention and help from the teacher so no children are left behind.'
'... classes can be both educational and fun.'
'... I can have a classroom
that fosters creativity and critical thinking.'
'... 80% of students reaing at grade level isn't enough.'
'... arts ed can be
implemented into
any subject.'
'... technology should play a vital
role in the classroom.'
'... all learning doesn't happen
in the classroom.'
